LGBTQA Internship Program

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Studies Minor and the LGBTQ & Diversity Resource Center at Rutgers University-Newark offer exciting internship opportunities for students during the fall and spring semesters.

 Internship Facts:

  • Internships are credit bearing (3 credits per semester, 400-level)
  • Credits will fulfill requirements for the LGBT minor, and will count as upper level credit toward graduation for students in the WGS department. Students in other majors may do this for independent study credits with permission from their departments.
  • Internships require on-site hours (10 hrs/ week) to be determined with the on-site coordinator of the LGBTQ & Diversity Resource Program in the Office of Student Life. For more information, feel free to call the Dean of Students Office at 973-353-5934.
  • Internships also require an academic component (paper/project) related to the internship position. Interns will be required to complete a bi-weekly journal entry and a paper that has a research and reflection component at the end of the semester.
