In addition to being a student worker on campus, intern at PSE&G, and L.I.T Mentor, she actively engages in the Newark community through every opportunity she has. Though she has aspirations to become a Psychiatrist, she believes community service - or “giving back” is a way to show appreciation to your community and that it is an important aspect of a “well-rounded” individual. She also believes strongly in the quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” and does this partially through her volunteer work. When she is not studying or volunteering, she loves to read, play the piano, watch films and listen to music. Brianna joined the L.I.T. mentoring program to learn more about the LGBTQ community and how people’s intersectionalities affect and unite them. She also would like to use this opportunity to give back to students, and try to make the transitioning into college life process easier on as many students as possible.
