NELGBTC Accessibility

To guarantee that the 2018 NELGBT Conference remains accommodating to all participants, the FIR-E Planning Committee will ensure that there will be:

  • Clearly marked and identified gender neutral restrooms
  • Name tags that will provide an opportunity for folks attending the conference to write their pronouns
  • Wheelchair accessibility for all conference spaces
  • Sign language interpreters present for the duration of the conference
  • Captions for all media or video presentations
  • Meals with options that meet cultural, religious, and dietary needs
  • Facilitators providing warnings to conference attendees if a session includes any sensitive material such as sexual violence or domestic abuse

While this list is not comprehensive of all the accommodations and the inclusive practices that may be included, the FIR-E Planning Committee is prepared to determine solutions that would result in a favorable outcome for all NELGBT Conference participants.
