2016 Pride Award Nomination Form

2016 Pride Awards recognize an outstanding student, organization or faculty/staff memberfor their service to the Rutgers University-Newark community.

Faculty/Staff Category
This category honors a Rutgers University-Newark faculty or staff member of the LGBTQA campus community who allies and advances understanding and support and seeks to improve the RU-N LGBTQA community.

Outstanding Ally Category
This category honors a RU faculty, staff, or student who provides support and progresses the LGBTQA campus community. (Ally is defined as someone who is straight/heterosexually-identified who advocates, serves on committees, mentors and/or provides ally development for the benefit of the LGBTQA campus community.)

Emerging Leader Category
This category honors a RU graduate or undergraduate member of the LGBTQA campus community who has great potential to be a key leader in the LGBTQA community.

Bridge Building Category
This category honors a RU student, staff, or faculty member of the LGBTQA campus community who works to build bridges between marginalized communities and/or draws connections among various kinds of oppression.

Outstanding Student Contribution Category
This category honors a RU graduate/undergraduate student of the LGBTQA campus community who has consistently made a meaningful contribution to the LGBTQA campus community. 

Outstanding Ally Organization Category
This category honors a RU department/organization that has consistently collaborated with and made a meaningful contribution to the LGBTQA campus community.

Unsung Hero Category
This category honors a RU student, faculty, or staff member who makes outstanding contributions to the LGBTQA campus and broader communities without holding an elected office within an organization.

Peer Mentor of the Year
This category honors an a student who is a member of our LGBTQ mentoring program, who goes above and beyond their responsibilities to create a welcoming environment for LGBTQ students and create a space where students feel a sense of support and belonging.
